Disclosure: As a reminder I don't go back and correct any mental errors while writing because that is true to how my brain works with living with epilepsy. In order to understand this by someone just joining, one example at times I might speak a seteances out ouf order, or repeat them, spelling.
What can you do to celebrate or educate or spread Epilepsy Awareness
Those that have been along The Glitch Journey, knows epilepsy is very complex and NEVER the same for the same person. Everyione on this journey knows it has been a bit overwhelming, but I still want to anything that I can do to help celebrate this special month to our family and many others to raise epilepsy awereness. Read the last blog post knows I am going down to 1 a week, but the entire month I will do a 1 day post on my @RissEKUParmer to learn something new. Please go follow me and learn, or share my blog on your SM outlets, or maybe just a chat with a friend about epilepsy.
SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO EVERY DAY THIS MONTH ON YOUR SM
Wear all purple or a purple ribbon
Post a Fact saying roughly 65 million worldwide have epilepsy
Ask someone with eplepsy questions
1 in 26 in the US have epilepsy
Its a chronic illness, its not cureable. Some controlled & others are not
Broc turns 20 and just so happens It is also Joe Mauer night recognition
From the time Broc could throw a ball and pretend he was a catcher in the backyard he did it all the time. Always saying I want to be a catcher, thats the best position on the diamond. The Twins were his team, and he didn't miss a game on TV anytime and watched with intensity Mauer behind the plate. Always saying one day, I will be as good as him.
Little did he knew as he got much older, it is also one onf the toughest positions, but he still LOVES IT!. All because he watched Jim Mauer & Idolized him. Couldn't miss a game that is recogoizes your idol, he said it was the best birthday ever! Yes, i had Glitches happen, but watching him watch the TWINS AND SEEING THAT SMILE THE GLITCHES DIDN'T MATTER! Remember live your life! Iwill never forget that day, I don't even thnk with my crazy memory loss I have.
The Glitch later was living with your grandma passing away
Before you read this make sure you read about PapPap passing. Brent and I got the boys now all back at college moved in and back to empty nesters.
My grandma had good and bad days. THey lived in a senior center together. There would be days she would regonize people and days she was not, I can relate to that. What people didn't know she was fighting cancer but refused a hospital treatment. There were stickers placed believed on he back of her neck, I can't remember what they did but some type o help her with all her daily pain. She said I have to stay alive and be with him. He can't be in this place by himself, he needs me and I need him. That is why she refused to hospital chemo treatment. Her other goal was to make it to my cousins wedding, which was going to do both she was 97, I get my stubbornness I think from her.
She passed away I believe of a broken heart, but just couldn't make it one more week for my cousin's wedding.
I can see now how TRUE LOVE no matter the sitation you fight for one another and she did that. It was very hard having afurneral (I didn't attend again as I knew I shouldn't but enjoyed looking thrtoughpics ), a week before the wedding(I made it to that). I could see Grandma and PapPap looking down, smiling at my cousin praying they will have the same long life together, as they were blessed with.
SPECIAL EPILEPSY MONTH
WHAT A DAY BROC WILL NEVER FORGET
MAY BRENT AND I BE AS BLESSED OF LOVE AS MY GRANDMA & PAPAP WERE
