Celebrations, Glitches & Reflections
Disclosure: As a reminder I don't go back and correct any mental errors while writing because that is true to how my brain works with living with epilepsy. In order to understand this by someone just joining, one example at times I might speak a seteances out ouf order, or repeat them, spelling.
Time to bring ALL of you back up to speed with Team Parmer
September 5th was a celebration for each in different ways
It's been about a month since my last post. I have been dealing with more active
Glitches, so had to focus on resting.
In order to celebrate, then took time to reflect upon all of it.

Bryce Year 2 in Grad School for Aerospace Engineering at University of KY
Bryce has excelled at all he has made goals for himself, but it is also because he holds high standards for himself & works extremely hard daily. He currently is continuing his current research for his thesis. if you remember from Broc's graduation he even practiced his presentation in a conference room of the hotel. That shows he is always working to become better and reach that next goal. This rtime that preentaton he worked on, is soon gooing to be a published. Stay tuned on that, as he couodn't share what all it entails to us, and where or when it is being published.
However; this year he has some classes which he has no background in, so it started off a bit more frustatting this time. His advisor reminded him he places too much pressure on himself causing un-needed text anxiety. He just needs to remind himself he doesn't need to be "perfect", he needs to just BELIEVE in himself(Ted LASSO there)& trust his instincts. She has full confidence in his talents, that she wants him to go right into his PHD. So we might be having a Dr. Parmer in the house, if he chooses to pursue that.
What I am proud that he did, he took her advice and took a break from studying all the time with a trip up to Chicago on Labor Day weekend. He picked up his buddy in Richmond KY to drive on up. He has friends from KY that now work in the Chicago area, and so he and a few others all met there. They took in many sights there, but of course one of his favorites was the Pokemon Fossil Museum on the 5th.
It times like that in life is all you need to do, to get that much needed break to continue your passion forward with confidence.
Broc Signs a Pro-Baseball Contract with Tri-City Valley Cats in New York
For those that have followed Broc's baseball journey over the years, know that it has been filled with much success, unexpected injuries, and other adveristy. He has seen many pitchers he caught over the years be drafted, and have great success.
Baseball, like life does not always go the direction and timeline we set out. Same as Bryce with his job hunt, turned to Grad School. It was meant to end up that way.
Broc was not ready to be done with his first love. The summer after he graduated he found a league that took graduated players, and with his younger age it allowed him to play. He had a great season, gave him the reps he needed & others took notice. He was named the Player of the League. He took it upon himself, just like job hunts, he reached out to indy ball teams managers to provide video/stats and see when open try outs were or by invite. He did get some no answers based on injury history, and based on lack of playing time senior season. He knew he just needed that shot.
He got the invite To Tri-City. He proved he has the skill set, the drive, the dedication, the desire to do anything it takes for that team to win. He came home & thought that was it. They then reached back out & asked him if he would go ahead & sign for the next season. But, one week after signing, he received a call to come up to NY for the last 2 weeks and they wanted to activate him for the last week of the season and get him a few innings. So 2 days later he hopped on a plane & out to New York he went. The coach told him he wanted to have him just practice with the team for 1 week, and then the next week he would get to start 3 games and play 3 innings each game. The game on the 5th, the Coach had been impressed with his game calling and he had done very well each game at the plate, so he let him do the entire game.
His journey is just begining & proving he just needed that 1 shot & to BELIEVE in himself.
23rd Wedding Anniversary on September 5th
Anytime Brent & I's anniversary comes around, It is hard to believe all that has happened over the years abd he still stands proudly by my side. I am reminded how great we truly have it, based on others observatiuons, not just our own. I have had others who live with Chronic Conditions ask me how do you and your husband make it wirk? You always seem so happy, and we have pain just like you. The truth is, we are not "always" happy. The truth is, we love each otjer. Yes, there will be days we definately don't agree on certain things, and yes having a chronic condition like Epilepsy does add a little moew extra effort. That is the joy of having a spouse that will stand by you no matter what your given sitauation might be. Go back and read the previous post & it shows an exmaple.
What I wwant to remnd others, is that my epilepsy is NOT what makes or breaks our marriage. We are just like any other married couple. It's everyday we work harder for each other, and whatever that might include. We also don't let others come between us, everyone has opinions on marriage & we need to respect that. So what I want you to know is LOVE & CHERISH each day you get, like it's your last. That's how you make it work.
Why I said Reflection in the title of this blog
We hopped on a plane once we found out Broc was going to play in games. We had planned on going to see lots of New York City, had the timeline all planned out based around Broc's scheduled playing. But just like the boy's plans took different directions, so did ours as MyGlitches were acting up.
So we had one day seeing as much as we could. One was the Brookylyn Bridge. Just like the bridge Unites two cities, Our family is united through adversity & supporting each other through it all. The other site was the 9/11 memorial site. As I stood there listening to the water fal, and seeing all the names from the tragedy(i thought of 2 I knew). I also remninded myself that tragedies like 9/11 is why we treasure everday like our last.
That is why I say that treat each day like it is your last. Don't wait to go after that dream, you might just get that shot. Boys' this is why your mom is inspired by your drive. Honey your dedication to our marriage and family cannot be placed into words. Just know many have noticed, especially me and the boys.
Team Parmer is STRONG no matter MyGlitch.
NO ONE can take that away!

A beautiful update💕 Sharing the good but not glossing over what is difficult. That’s why it reads so true. Love you💜
Wow what a wonderful blog of success for your boys Marissa and also teaching us it’s ok to work hard at goals but make time to play and discover and reconnect with friends. I also love the idea of connecting with our adult children and cheering them on. This builds a wonderful foundation for their families in the future .
I’m soo proud of both of then !!!
Congrats Broc on your new endeavors
Trini gyrl gratitude
